Anne Ewing

Head of Written Subjects

Anne Ewing, M.Mus., B.Mus. (Hons), L.Mus.A. (Vln), A.Mus.A. (Pf, Th.o.M, Vc) has over twenty years of experience teaching music theory, musicology, aural training, piano, and composition, both privately and at the Australian National University. Her recent presentations of papers at musicological and music theoretical conferences include for the International Musicological Society’s Intercongressional Symposium (Switzerland, 2019), Compositrices et interprètes en France et en Allemagne: approches analytiques, sociologiques et historiques, (Austria, 2019), Beethoven-Haus Bonn (Germany, 2018), and for the Society of Music Analysis’ CityMAC (London, 2018). Residing in Vienna, Austria, Anne is currently completing a PhD on creative experimentation in Beethoven’s Bagatelles at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She also holds Masters and Bachelors (Honours) degrees in Piano Performance, as well as a Licentiate Diploma in violin and Associate Diplomas in Piano, Theory of Music, and Cello, and has performed as soloist, accompanist, chamber musician, and/or orchestral musician in Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, and Austria.
